Default More Kitchen Redo Questions - Refrigerator

In the interest of full disclosure, I've recently asked about convection
toaster ovens, range hood microwaves, and I'm not sure what all else,
but I'm back with one more - even though we've changed absolutely
nothing about our kitchen yet. I appreciate the advice and opinions
I've received here, and eventually, I guess, we'll either do a bunch of
these things at once or pick one of them and start with that.

Refrigerators - below is a $1500 and a $500 model:

http://www.lg.com/us/refrigerators/l...r-refrigerator -
$1500

http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/2035229...ctId=203522982 - $500

I'm not doubting the more expensive one is better, but how, please, is
it worth 3 times the cost? We have never owned anything other than a
plain 'fridge, freezer on top, never had an automatic ice maker and I'm
happy that way, etc.

Thanks in advance for your replies.
