I just did a sandwich of turkey and Swiss on sourdough rounds. I buttered
both sides of the bread. Tastes great but the piece of bread on top didn't brown. Should I have flipped it as it cooked? Browned that piece first? Thanks! |

Personally, it sounds like that might have been better just cooked in a frying pan like a grilled cheese sandwich. You could also just toast the bread first, add the turkey and swiss then microwave it for about a minute or so to heat up the meat and melt the cheese. If you wanted butter (or mayo) spread that on the inside of the toast before heating in microwave. |

The top piece was toasted. Just not brown. |

Bullshit. When you use an air fryer you have to clean out the basket and the base. When you use a pan you just clean the pan. |

Yes but my pan is large and heavy and because it's been abused, stuff sticks to it now. So it's hard to clean. The air fryer is small and light. No scrubbing. |

The top piece was toasted. Just not brown. === I cook my toasted sandwiches in the air fryer too. I use butter or mayo on the outsides. I keep a close eye on it when it's cooking. I always turn mine over when the top looks done and then the ' new top' always cooks faster. |
