I decided to get one. I am off to a questionable start. I did some
research and it looked like Philips was the best. I checked on line and Canadian Tire had them on sale and the on hand stock was going down. I tried to order one online and everything seemed to be working until I got to the checkout and got a message that there was a problem and they could not process the order at that time, please try again later. I called the store and asked them to hold one for me, which they are doing. Meanwhile, I did some online banking, checked my credit card account and there as a charge for Canadian Tire. A few minutes later I got an email that my order has been process. So it appears that I went from a failed transaction to having two of them to be picked up. I could call and tell them to forget about the one they are holding, but I don't want to let that one go in case they other one is screwed up. |

WTF are you buying kitchen appliances from a tire store??? Sounds like a rinky dink bargain basement operation, you'd have had the unit you wanted by now had you ordered it from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_s...d=17SCJM2N4OX3 |

Im afraid I am wedded to my deep fat fryer which loves me back, and so I cant divorce it this late in life. It even did me a lovely partridge last week. |

I haven't cooked deep fried foods in many years, they're very unhealthy and a waste of expensive cooking oil... there are better ways to cook the same foods in a more healthfful manner without buying special equipment. There's nothing an air frier can do better than I can in an ordinary oven, or even a microwave.... nukers are excellent at frying anything, and super fast. |

That is sad news, but until the lady on the pale horse arrives I will stick with it. I only use it occasionally, but I have found it useful for smaller game birds which dry out too much, for me, when roasted. |

The thing I remember the most was the built in deep-fryer. We didn't get the house but I shall forever be haunted by that fryer. The deep fryer is a most wonderful appliance. It is also probably the most dangerous appliance. |

Sometimes Amazon does charge a couple dollars more but it sure beats the price of gas driving around and my time wasted. And when Amazon accepts an order it's shipped and on time. However most times Amazan beats everyone's prices. And nothing beats shopping from the comfort of home. My only complaint about on line shopping is getting rid of the corrogated cartons and packing materials. Chewy's is the worst, lots cartons and packing materials. but can't complain about the free right to my door service and low prices. |

I love the convenience of Amazon, but their prices are usually higher than the store prices. I do agree about the excess packaging. Cheri |

That's because the shipping is the same $6 for one tube of hair gel as for six. I always try to buy in bulk quantities and also bundle my orders, I wait until I have like 4-5 items in my cart before placing the order, then they all arrive in the same package and that saves on shipping. |

It's more like a huge hardware and appliance store, with sporting goods, toys, and a garden center thrown in for good measure. Doris |

Western Auto is a lot like TSS (Times Square Stores), was sorta like an expanded Dollar General, sold a lot of dreck and discontinued items. When there was no internet it was a lot more difficult to locate lower prices. Also a lot of people refuse to buy an Amazon Prime memembership... what they may not realize is the Prime membersip applies to everyone in the same household. |
