Depends on temperature and how well it was wrapped. You can look for
signs of freezer burn or dehydration.

It would not make you sick but it could have lost flavor and texture but
you won't know for sure until you eat it.

I've got you beat. I cooked a roast last month that was about 9 years old.
It was well sealed in a vacuum bag, with no ice crystals or freezer burn. It
was delicious.

it so whatever is remaining goes out under a spruce tree for a possum
party.

Well shit if we're shooting for who's eaten the oldest , in 1972 I
ate a steak that was frozen for our troops in 1944 . It came from the
officer's mess freezer aboard the USS Eversole while cruising off the
coast of Vietnam . I was working with the night cook (my "day job" was
electrician when not on mess cook duty) , making all the bread and other
baked goodies for a crew of around 300 . Probably where I got my love of
baking breads ...

Yeah, all my vacuum bags are dated but sometimes things do get buried
in the freezer. But I'm not concerned as everything is so well sealed. Yours
probably are, too.

I have a system ... top shelf is beef and misc . Second shelf is
chicken and pork . 3rd shelf is fruits/big cuts and venison . Bottom is
big cuts . The chest is easier , the whole bottom third is frozen
tomatoes . There is also bread/buns , frozen tater products , and some
meats . Basket has butter and small meats like ground turkey and sausage
.. The open shelving in the cellar is easier .

Starting on the top shelf of my upright freezer it's beef, then on down to chicken,
third shelf is pork, and bottom shelf is for vegetables. The door holds several
pounds of butter, packages of bacon, and the bottom of the door has a small
tilt-out bin that holds sausage rolls and blocks of cream cheese.

My daughter put her dead pet rabbit in the freezer. In was in a plastic shopping bag on the bottom bin so the shape sort of looked like a frozen duck. I guess she was waiting for a proper period of mourning to pass before being buried. With the rabbit frozen like that she could have used it to dig a hole. That would be cool!

I do have a sick mind at times. OTOH, why waste good meat?

I image most people took that as a bit of dark humor. Surely you've
heard the jokes about a Chinese restaurant opening up and all the stray
cats disappearing.

There were a couple of big boxes IIRC - this was nearly 50 years ago
.. And it wasn't all that great , mostly because the cook I worked with
was a pepper freak .

How about a 10,000 year old frozen mammoth tusk discovered in the remote
Siberian permafrost?

You could build a nice stand for that and display it on your fireplace
mantle.

I label homemade food that I freeze just to remember what the heck it is
but I never worry about stock rotation. I don't buy anything in bulk
amounts that will last more than a year or so.

I don't worry about eating oldest food first either. I eat whatever
sounds good on the day and it's all within a year or so.

My freezer is just a small 'over the fridge' one. That's all I need and
easy to stay fairly current with.
