Uselessnet exists because aging boomers remember its early days and are generationally resistant to endless change. It's like the guy with a closet full og 8 track tapes bemonaing CDs or ignoring Pandora. It's an anachronism on life support. > This is an unmoderated group and that's a good thing. That's' the reality of it. > What you have been doing here lately is only damaging the group. I did post on topic to begin with and was immediately attacked by BBQ-ruining Bodine and his pet dwarf. Be real about what happened here. The difference is, I fought back! I've gone after only those who have malicious intent and practices. I make ZERO apologies for that. > Hey...this is Rome. You should do as us Romans do. > This is indian country. Expect to have to dodge arrows occasionally. That's one of the most tepid defenses I have yet read. You're actually supporting a bullying status quo as if it were the ONLY way for RFC to thrive. How sad. How depressing. How self-serving. Why not grow a pair and toss the "Groupkillas" and Julie-bashers right out of here. They offer little or no other value anyway. |

Surely that is the best path to follow? Yup, that's what I did for a bit. I pulled her messages out until I was calm and easy about it all. Now I'm chatting with her again. She's never going to accept any advice and now i know to not spend 4 hours looking up answers for a quandry she has. Thats sad as i like helping people but if she will never accept any answer, then there is little to be done. Carol -- |

Grin, he's not that old but a reasonable guess is he is in his 80's now possibly. Since he seems partial to vodka, doubt he puts away that much a day. I suspect more like 1L every 2 weeks? Mixed with juices or sodas if I read it right over time. Carol -- |

Actually, it's long been known as 'The Chaotic Kitchen". I started reading/posting here around 1997 and things were just as nuts then as they are now. Only the characters have changed. There are always trolls and spammers, you just have to figure out how to killfile. Some of us do actually talk about cooking. OB Food: I've been on a bit of a soft taco kick for lunch this past month. No problems with the flour tortillas being stuck together like KenK experienced. Jill |

They're there for a reason. :-) All those who post about their killfiles most certainly care... hardly a week passes that sf doesn't boast about her killfile, about who's in it, urge others to use killfiles, and most especially who to killfile. Boasting about who's in her killfille sf demonstrates the same level of classiness her husband would demonstrate boasting about how she gives great BJs... both are topics normal people STFU about because they are not going to prove it. |

"No problems" cuz yuv never experienced the sticking together of flour tortillas or "No problems" cuz you correctly use corn tortillas, instead? Soft tacos, traditionally, have been two small corn tortillas, pre-prepped by deep/pan frying in oil till "soft" n' warm, then served back-to-back filled with ordered meat plus minced onions n' cilantro. At least that is how I've been served soft tacos in traditional San Jose (CA) taquerías. ![]() nb |

Same here. I have lots of odd bits about all the time. I just started something new to me, shepards pie. It may be very familar to others but today Charlotte and i wandered a cook book for a ground beef idea and that one seemed right. It seems you do not drain the ground beef (yes, a ground beef version). It looks like they are trying to make it's own gravy with that fat. Since i'm using very lean GB, I'm ok with that. This recipe calls for Beef broth which isn't handy but many others use beef gravy which is, so a little swap there. It's doing it's thing. Later, we top with the potatoes we cooked up and mashed. -- |

A perceptive lass you are. It seems to have been forgotten that when I used 2 socks, one to flame and the other to converse that I was attacked under both names simultaneously. The "problem" is this group acting like the Taliban to shelter and encourage flagrant abusers. Dealing with it is ponderous and time-consuming, but it will be done. |
