Same here. I have lots of odd bits about all the time.
I just started something new to me, shepards pie. It may be very
familar to others but today Charlotte and i wandered a cook book for a
ground beef idea and that one seemed right.
It seems you do not drain the ground beef (yes, a ground beef version).
It looks like they are trying to make it's own gravy with that fat.
Since i'm using very lean GB, I'm ok with that.
This recipe calls for Beef broth which isn't handy but many others use
beef gravy which is, so a little swap there.
It's doing it's thing. Later, we top with the potatoes we cooked up
and mashed.
