Default What kind of vinegar for this?

I will be making a coleslaw dressing and here are the ingredients:

a.. 1 to 1 1/4 cups mayonnaise, or to taste
a.. 1/3 cup sugar
a.. 1/4 cup vinegar
a.. 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
a.. 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
a.. salt, to taste

What kind of vinegar would you use? Thanks!

I make a similar dressing and use cider vinegar, but white would work.
So would a white wine or champagne vinegar. I put some Dijon mustard
in too.

Or any of a gazillion other kinds of vinegar. I just bought a malt
vinegar for the first time yesterday and am looking forward to trying it
out - in what, I don't know, but I'll try it in something.

Lately, I am partial to rice wine vinegar in many things - I think it
adds a nice flavor and I even use it in places I wouldn't normally use
vinegar, e.g., as a seasoning in a sauteed dish or stir-fry.

I love malt vinegar on French fries. Kept the kids out of my plate when
they were little, too. :-)

Rice wine vinegar is very tasty sprinkled over sliced cucumbers and
tomatoes.

I was raised with malt vinegar and it is still what I put on my fish and
chips. My mother used to put some on tomatoes or sliced cucumber too.

It is still my favourite but I don't use it on everything. I use cider
vinegar in mayonnaise.

Bragg's Organic Apple Cider vinegar with the Mother. That stuff tastes good to just drink it out of the jug. Also good for indigestion. Has more live enzymes than a person can shake a stick at. I threw out all the high dollar balsamics on the day I discovered that stuff.

We take every pill known to man presently..I just need one more..lol. My house looks like a health food shoppe. I do think I messed up on using ACV for my last batch of pickled sausage. Tastes mighty good but too cloudy for the finicky types most likely. Will go for white next rattle out of the box. Needs to look closer to the store bought variety. Now the organic is not made to be heated as per pickling duties. That kills all the nice friendly living enzymes which live in there and help with indigestion.
