Thunderbird has an awesome set of boolean filters that worked great for email but it never proved useful for newsgroup posts. You send to see most people's posts as quoted responses anyway. OTOH Google Groups lists topics in such a clear way that you don't need to filter out posters. As an added bonus it already filters the baddest, most heinous, posters. |

Used to be crowds of beggers at Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Safeway, etc. Now all you see is one with a sign at the entrance to the Walmart parking lot, no problem because you only get close to them while driving. Wonder what happened to deter them? New law or cops crack down? Whatever it was, it worked! -- I love a good meal! That's why I don't cook. |

Agreed, and it's certainly easier to not open the posts when you see their name rather than maintain a killfile... Agent allows me to killfile but I've never used it. By not killfiling the douchebags I get to know when they ooze out without so much as a fare thee well and also when those miscreants ooze back in years later without even introducing their fetid selves to the noobies, probably because wherever they were they were hiding they were tossed out or it was made too inhospitable for the no couth losers. It's got to be embarrasssing to leave on the sly and then years later come crawling back, but douchebags feel no shame, they're enured, their entire lifestyle is shameful. |

He was a big part of this group once until he offed >himself on New Years day. Obviously no one reported his demise to the web site admin. This is the first I'm hearing about Andy ending it all, I figured he got bored and decided to unceremoniously move on, same as so many others have. He always seemed a bit odd to me, in sort of a childlike manner, but I never picked up that he was unhappy, in fact he was very jocular and always talking about how he got along so well with his sister, and even sent a picture of her sitting by his lovely fireplace. Andy did live in a gorgeous home, he sent pictures of his very nice kitchen but mostly of the exterior of his house and of his expansive property. Since you know the fact of his demise (I don't) it's best you send the info to Chatty Cathy, her email is at the site's home page: Andy's picture is still at Mugs, of course he never showed his face, didn't show his sister's face either... I always got the feeling he was a notable celebrity and didn't want to be recognized. I liked Andy, I feel sad that he's gone. http://www.recfoodcooking.org/mug/shot/Andy.jpg At the site I was reminded of the inhfamous Tinfoil Hat contest: http://www.recfoodcooking.org/survey/hats.html This is as close as I can come up with a picture of Andy's face: http://www.recfoodcooking.org/survey/fashion.html |
