My theory is that if you have a big enough database, you locate people simply by doing a search of a few relevant words. Big data like this is gonna be a great tool for law enforcement in the future. No complex algorithms will be needed - just simple connections. --- I like that I can connect to people right here in my community almost instantly. I needed a good handyman. Boom! Got one the very next day. Far better than the newspaper, phonebook or search engine. I also hired some kids to clean up the dropped fruit when my gardener broke his foot. Sadly his foot is still in bad shape but I have a line on some back up gardeners too. |

I'm talking about a database of simple, one-to-one, connections between people and things. It might be possible to build a "connection engine" that will output one person's name with only a few query terms - maybe 5 or 6. If the database were large enough, it would work seemingly like magic. I ain't talking about Angie's List here. ![]() |
