Good idea, Jill. My cable tv bill is insane now. I've been tempted to
cancel it all and just watch the 6 local channels with the bad
reception and save $80 per month. Trouble is...most of the channels I
like are only available on cable and I still don't get many cable
channels that I would like to have.

Right now, I have all the channels available without having to rent
their cable box too, even though my tv is cable ready. A minor upgrade
for me would give me about 10 more channels that I would enjoy but
also about 20 more that I would never watch. Plus then paying monthly
for the box.

Companies will charge just as much as the market will bear. If enough
customers say, "enough," and actually cancel for a while, they will
back down. We customers just need to form a union to stick together
and go on strike when necessary.

in 2010, I had a nose bleed that I couldn't stop, so had a friend take
me to the local hospital ER. BP was 240/140!

Not controlled well with 2 medications.

I'm also not salt sensitive, extremely low salt diet had no effect after
more than 6 months. Stopping limiting salt ALSO had no effect.

Time Warner has had that (for some, but NOT all channels), until very
recently, when they went all encrypted, forcing everyone to take a decoder
box, that's free for now but WILL cost in the future.

She'd rather just complain about it here. There's nothing we can do
about it.

If I didn't have cable I likely wouldn't even have standard broadcast
channels. I threw out my rabbit ears a long time ago.

I don't have a cable box. The few times I've had to call about service
interruptions some of the technicians swear I *must* have a cable box.
Nope, I don't. The connection plugs directly from the TV into the wall.
And it works! Surprise!

Exactly. What's that old adage? The squeaky wheel gets the grease.

True, but all she really wanted was for people to pay some attention to
her or talk about her.

It appears he and several others, most notably Julie and Jill, suffer
from such a deficit of attention in their lives that they will overtly
court and seek the bullying of Steve Wertz.

This is one sick nest of lunatics for sure!

It's official - Julie is a head case who is locked in an abusive
relationship with Steve Wertz.

She craves HIS attention SO much she'll take it as abuse, bullying,
insults, you name it.

Any old way he wants to beat her up is fin with Julie.

Sick.

You're a catty little bitch by any standards, and in a den of head cases
like this you may not be the most lunatic, but you're easily one of the
most spiteful and nasty.

You appear, in the final analysis, to be correct about Julie.

My bad.

You were right.

She's a unbalanced attention whore who will take good or bad, just as
long as she get's some attention.

For the record, I never once even considered sleeping with you. And
you know that. You're the one who somehow got the idea that I was
going to move in with you - and you posted that to RFC just out of the
total blue.

After having met you twice at casual austin.food gatherings 2 or 3
years ago and not giving you any indication that there was any sort of
romantic interest in the least, you somehow twisted that into MY
MOVING IN WITH YOU?

That was just way too Psycho for me. I sat there at stared at the
screen for at least 15 minutes wondering, WTF? That was just way too
spooky. I've met weird, semi-psycho women before but you win, hands
down. Mapi of austin.general still holds the male title, but at least
he announced his psychosis right there lying on the floor of the bar
at B.D. Reilly's rather than romantically obsessing over me for 2
years.

Needless to say, you need to come to terms with what happened and why
your mind works that way and stop making up excuses for your fixation
and disappointment before we become the next Yoli and Michael. I'd
prefer you use a sniper rifle on me from a few hundred yards away.
There you go - a reason for you to buy yet another gun and ammo.

And Jeremy, I was just tired of your decade of bullshit and visions of
grandeur about all these things you're "working on" or have not done
in the past. Even posting a call for meetings with imaginary people
about imaginary projects of yours at "the normal time and place", as
if you are somebody important with a life. I'm pretty sure you're
manic depressive mixed with habitual liar.

Sorry I don't fit either of your Ideal Psycho Pal Profiles.

I wondered what the big whoop was about Schwans - especially to this

Their ship is sinking. My guess is that in a couple of years, most folks will have ditched cable. The only thing we'll need is a high speed conduit for streaming on demand.

Nothing is free. You forgot about all the individual monthly fees
they'll charge. I wanted to watch something on the tablet (had to DL
an app) instead of On Demand and then found out they wanted to charge
me for it. Even Youtube is charging now. No thanks, I'll go through
a middle man.
