More like crack dealer. In any case, I think she has a food
truck/catering business, which still doesn't explain how she can
afford that house.

If she's a crack dealer that might explain it. Maybe it's a very
successful food truck/catering business. I don't see anything really
fancy or special about that kitchen that would make me question how she
could afford it.

Really Jill? When was the last time you bought a home or remodeled a
kitchen?

Never, as you well know. So what? Why are you assuming she can't

The Brady Bunch doesn't have a thing to do with having intelligent
children with a good vocabulary.

Dunno but other then the granite counters and the SS oven, it didnt
look that fancy to me. She has a table pretending to be an Island
seems?

SF, I kind of agree with Jill....the only "pricey" thing or extravagance I see is
the size of it....cupboards, surfaces, etc., look pretty usual to me. But
the space does look huge to me. My kitchen is 10 X 13, and seems plenty
big to me, but hers looks about twice as big. Mine could be that big if I got
rid of my dining room; maybe she sacrificed other space to get that big a
space.

<I haven't seen the youtube video in supplied link>

What gets me is why somebody would even think in those terms at all,
especially about somebody they know nothing about. You need to be a
special kind of asshole to do that, IMO. Nasty, mean-spirited, petty.

Janet UK, I think the spices were on a 2-level kitchen island. Note
the tall bar stools in the foreground. It would not be where I would
keep them...for one thing, they should be in a dark place, especially
the ones that don't get used very often, so they don't deteriorate in
the light. For another, they take up too much usable space there, and
they make clutter.

Maybe she's talking about the stainless appliances? I don't really
know. Frankly, the comment sounded snooty.

I think I'll ask some of my real life friends about this. They'll
probably wonder why she's amazed they can afford to have nice kitchens.

It didn't look all that fancy to me, either. I've certainly seen better
countertops than that in starter homes on HGTV.

She was just showing off for the video. I hope she doesn't store them
that way all the time. She runs a food truck and catering business
so she needs the large quantities.

I worked with a woman who kept saying "mackerel" when we were talking
about recipes for salmon croquettes/patties/fish cakes. At the time,
the price difference was only about 10 or maybe 15 cents per can. But
hey, she was raised using canned mackerel. (NOTE: I've never been able
to make canned mackerel taste anything like canned salmon.)

As for the kitchen, I really don't see anything overly fancy about it.
I see 20-somethings on HGTV expecting starter homes with kitchens much
more fancy than that one.

Yup. It's not like I saw 3 sinks, 2 ovens, and such. I did find her
over the top rude reminded me faintly of some UK humor (not that they
are like that, just a little reminder to my own mind of acerbic sorts).

I can also get it with the recipe. It's not what I do, but I could
follow it well enough.

How true. No, her income isn't based on how much she swears. And we
don't know the neighborhood. I think it's rather pretentious to ask how
she can afford a nice kitchen. Maybe she saved her money for years.
Why shouldn't she have a nice kitchen?

Looked more like a table pressed into looking like an Island to me but
maybe I missed something.

I think the space is a camera angle bit, like motor home shots look
really big.

I saw 3 steps from the stove to the far cabinet to get a plate.

Could also indicate a video set for those not exactly flush in the
finances to make something a little nicer.

To me, its hard to tell.

I think, this time you need to listen to the youtube to get it. She's
unable to utter a sentance without cussing and she's really rude to her
cameraman (son?). Me, I took it as a funny act.

No youtube at this time of the day for me, due to bandwidth issues.

Fair enough about the bad language or whatever, but I don't see the
connection between that and why her ability (or otherwise) to afford
an apparently nice kitchen has got to do with anything, or why anyone
would even think that in the first place. Anyone with that kind of
mind set is not the kind of person I would want anything to do with.

So being crass and rude to one's son is "funny"?

Wow.

You're warped.

I saw one of those cooks on TV that said the same thing, she's not
interested in a fancy car etc., but she put her money in a top of the line
Lacanche range. Personally, I would sooner have the stove too.

YouTube money. They pay very well if you have a lot of views! Some
make a nice living from YouTube. I've received $200 over the past four
years for my basic uploads with well under a million total views over
that time-frame.

did anybody notice that huge canister of dry herbs and spices all
mixed together on the cabinet? How about grinding the celery and
onions all together and just throughing blobs of the mixture into the
Croquette? Interesting...

Yeah, with no idea of the spices in the huge container that looked a
bit like a kitty litter reuse only round?

I can handle the mixed celery, green onion, and chives though as
presented. Thats sort of how you do them for this type of dish.

I was referring to the Brady Bunch children as portrayed in the show.
