It's the equivalent of overhearing someone standing in the canned goods
aisle at the store say "I wish I could find the bread". It's human nature
to be helpful and tell that person it's two aisles over, but Julie would
think that was rude the person was eavesdropping on a private comment
apparently meant only for herself.

What people like Julie don't understand is that posting to usenet,
unmoderated Newsgroups especially, is tacitly a request for
assistance/criticism... those who don't want comments really shouldn't
post here... people like Julie still haven't figured out why there's a
"Reply" button.

I believe you've got it backwards from what most people do. If my
husband told me he couldn't find his keys I would do what (I think) is
the thoughtful thing to do and get off my butt to help him look. I
wouldn't dream of giving him some smart ass comment while I continued to
sit.

I don't think my husband (or most other people) would ever make that
kind of statement ("I can't find my keys") and *expect* anyone within
ear shot to get up and help. Helping is just the thoughtful thing to
do, at least in my world.

She's just winding everyone up. I didn't ask for help, you're
rude. Ridiculous.

At some point, if he keeps looking and having no luck, of course
you're going to want to help him. Usually that's right away
unless you're busy yourself. He'd do that same for you.

Well, I don't think anyone has ever said that to me. Not ever. "Could you
help me find my car keys?", is more like something that someone might say.
But this is all very much veering off topic. I am not married to anyone in
this newsgroup and the way that marrierd people or even close friends react
with each other is not necessarily the way others would. My best friend and
I often don't have to say things because we just "know". I do not have any
such bond with anyone here on this newsgroup.

Again, nobody I know of has said that and they likely wouldn't.

I am not winding anyone up. People are winding themselves up. So far in
this thread, many things have been made up that I never said. Such as that
I buy frozen lemonade and add sweetener or that I want to drink sweet water.

*My* husband would not help me find my car keys or anything else. I doubt
he would help you find yours either but that's another matter.

I think so too. Trust me the "anti-Julie wolf pack" scare me just as much
as his ferrets .... ;-)

Apparently you missed all the lies that cshenk said to and about me and all
of the insults that she hurled at me. I come across as a young person. I
just learned to cook. I have the social skills of a 20 year old, whatever
that means. It's not like we're all the same at the same age.

I don't relish negative attention. Who would? And yes, I am probably being
rude but seriously, how much do you think I should take? Lies again and
again and again. Taking something I said and turning it totally into
something else and then saying that *I* don't know how to speak English?
Sheesh.

That is something that has never happened either. In my world, people are
usually pretty direct. I have had people ask me if I knew were something
was. But I generally don't hear people talking to themselves and if I do, I
cut them a wide berth because they might not be all there mentally. And
yes, honing in on something like that would be rude.

You have such a great life, surrounded by such nice people.
No wonder you have such an appalling attitude to seemingly everything
in life. I can honestly say that I've never come across people like
yourself IRL.

The only one being a bully here is you. I chose to not read someone
and you have become less than polite. It seems you do not feel I have
a right to read who I want to read?

Whatever...

Ophelia is a charter member of the sisterhood of stupidity that
compulsively replies to everything that appears on her monitor, and
Julie gives her lots of stuff to reply to. The typical MO is to quote
more than 50 lines of previous posts and adding a half a line at most.

If you were any brighter than Ophelia you could have done that without
quoted 100 lines from the previous posts in the non thread.
