Just finished the first canner load of the season. Got 5 half-pints of a
beautiful Peach jam cooling on the countertop.

I only wish my back was as young as it used to be. Feels like a bomb
exploded in the middle of it.....ah, the joys of age.

It sounds yummy, Lana. I'm envious. What kind of recipe did you use?

I use the recipe on the no/low sugar pectin box -- with my one second
ingredient addition -- a scant half-teaspoon of ground nutmeg. Gives a nice
"little something different" taste to the jam.

Thanks for asking.

A tablespoon or two of fresh ground ginger is my favorite.
I've been invited up to a Native American reservation for a Sheep is Life
conference over our birthday weekend. Sounds like fun.

Ah, it's coming back to me now. Of all the things I've lost, I miss my
mind the most.

I was unexpected and generally regarded as a PITA. :-/
Yer jist a young whippersnapper, though. I'm almost as old as Jorge.
Oh, maybe not -- NObody's THAT old!

That's next after the asparagus - Madras Pickled Eggplant from Small Batch
Preserving. Sounds good. The Lebonese Pickled Eggplant from JOP was *very*
garlicky. A wierd one. Did up 4x big batch of sweet mixed "winter" pickle, but
added a couple cans of minicorns. Thunk that up all by myself.

(That was "nineteen." I associate the works of Michael Franks with the
