Default The old rfc gang?

Is anybody here from the original newsgroup gang? It seemed so much like a
bunch of neighbours sitting around the kitchen table exchanging recipes and
gossip.
Anybody out there?
I think I used to use "kangatoo" or some variation on that. Also
"cassandraK"

How far back? Some of the best of them left because talk of recipes and
food became less and less while off topic posts grew in number. Who are
you looking for?

how many years back? I've been reading for quite a while and remember the
hilarious stories about Buffy and Shirley and their travels and travails and a
silly dog that went with them. There was usually a good recipe at the end.

Define "original newsgroup gang". I've been here for ten years but the
group was going long before that.

Lessee.. there was Mary (Puds) and her wonderful ASCI drawings of the cats;
Moose and Mavis (wasn't she always making him tow the line?) Kay and her
wonderful missives about those fabulous dinners she'd share with her uncle;
Charlie Gifford in his Liam days; Sheryl Rosen and her wicked stepmother
stories; "Squeaks" Pulliam and her memorial to her brother in her siggy
line; The Taboulli Princess in prebaby days; Sheldon, yet not quite as
"Sheldon-y" yet; Stan was around touting the joys of ketchup even then,
wasn't he?..... those are some off the top of my head I recall from back
then. I used to post under assorted various names/ISP's.

I miss Mary.
I came on in Feb or March of 1997. With a (gasp!!!) Webtv!!!!
I never EVER used HTML and I quickly learned how to quote, then no one
really noticed much that I was a Webtv'er.

Sigh...wicked step-mother stories ended when Dad passed away 2 years ago.
Now I mostly lurk, post only occasionally. It's been 7 years....most of the
questions have been answered, ad nauseum.

But I have made wonderful friends that I try to see every few months, which
is great!

I check the ng more out of habit lately than out of interest.

Damsel, SF, Miche and Curly Sue were all around when I started reading RFC.
I remember the 2 Nancys (Young and Dooley), Sheldon...who could forget Joel
Ehrlich? Steve Kramer, of course. Bob Young from Texas (whatever happened to
him?) Ed Pawlowski was around back then, still is. Remember Sharon, who
was a Personal Chef, I think she lived near Lancaster, PA?

Well, I've been around for about 12 - 15 years, IIRC. And I'm still

Well, I used to post occasionally over 1990-1992. I seem to have tapered
off then and only posted a couple times prior to 2003. Never a recipe,
though. The shame....

I wasn't popular, but I was around, and peek in from time to time. I
believe my first post was in '92, under my unmarried name.
