I vanishingly rarely use mayo except on sandwiches. I just don't much care for creamy salad dressings. I have a dozen vinaigrette recipes in regular rotation, and once or twice a year I make ranch or creamy garlic. The ranch has nothing but buttermilk; the creamy garlic has buttermilk and a dab of mayo. A few nights ago I added some Hidden Valley ranch mix to some yogurt and dipped carrot, celery, and cucumber into it. It was the side dish for shredded chicken breast sauced with butter and Frank's hot sauce. Cindy Hamilton |
