Brown a pound of ground beef (Sheldon would yell "Mystery meat!"). Drain off all but about 1 Tbs. of fat. Season with S&P and add a Tablespoon or so (couple of glugs at least!) of Worcesteshire sauce and a half a cup of water. Simmer to reduce the liquid, about 10 minutes, until you have a sort of clear gravy. Spoon the "mince" with gravy over hot mashed potatoes. This was poor people's food and quite tasty. ![]() As for the peas, baby peas are really the only ones I like. I buy them frozen when the local farm stands aren't selling them fresh. If you prefer large green peas, have at 'em! Jill |
