It's also aired on DirecTV and I would guess on Dish
Network as well.

Apparently I do get it. Had nothing but The Wahlburgs on all of last
night. I saw that show far more than I'd like to remember when I was in the
hospital. The hospital gets very few channels. It's not necessarily a bad
show. Just not something I would normally watch. But when given the choice
of only that, bad music, news, sports and religion...

I've been catching the episodes as they're posted in
alt.binaries.teevee. These restaurants are astonishing--not so much
for the food per se of course but for the scale and scope of their
operations.

One thing I find hard to understand is that despite the size and
efficiency of the venues, people still have to wait in line to get a
table.

I grew up within walking distance of Juniors, their cheese cake was
good but not so I'd wait in line, I thought Ebinger's cheese cake was
better. Their food wasn't as good as the typical Greek diners, but
Greek diners served nesslerode pie to die for, far better than any
cheese cake. In Brooklyn the Italian bakeries had the best cheese
cake.

I watched the show today. It was a Princess ship. Of course they will only show the best of the meals, but is still made me almost consider a Princess cruise. HELP ME!!

Actually, the show was interesting and does give a sense of the hard work and coordination that goes into serving that many meals in a short time. The team work is pretty amazing.

CVN's Rosie. A bit less than 3,000 regular crew plus as many again as
part of the airwing.

It's not really 15,000 meals for the crew complement. Mid-rats only
apply to 1/4 of the crew and technically, they don't eat one of the
other meals. 12,000. Now add in the airwing. 24,000. Because *some*
try to eat all 4 meals, might be bumping 27,000 there.

Grin, having served 3 years on a CVN, used to it. LHD's are close to it
in some ways but with feeding a little less than 2,000 people a day.
(Crew 1,000 and ancillary 1,000 with surge to 3,000)

LSD's can be awesome in food or abysmal depending on the cooks. (crew
300, 700 marines).

I forgot, one of the best things on a ship for me, is.... all the baked goods, all the bread and other baked goods are fresh made all the time !!!
