I do not recommend this! I screwed up. Bought an 8 oz. box of soy milk to
make cream of mushroom soup for a tuna casserole. I actually screwed up twice as after tasting it and realizing that it was lacking something, I realized that I hadn't put the tuna in! That was easily remedied but... There was no way to fix the fact that I had accidentally bought vanilla flavored soy milk. Grrr... I knew right away once it hit the pan. I could tell by the smell. I did add extra tuna, onions and parsley trying to make it more savory. The end result was just okay. Would have been far better without that vanilla. Worse still, I bought two more boxes! I have a large box of plain but I didn't want to open it because the rest would go to waste. I just didn't notice the "vanilla" on the label because where it was placed was not even close to the "soy milk" part. I had to resort to going online to get the plain small boxes. So either way there is likely to be waste. Not sure what all else can be done with soy milk. I doubt that I can use all 24 boxes before it goes bad. |

(sorry to piggyback, JeBus) So, you didn't want to open the box of regular soy milk because the rest might be wasted. Instead you ordered a bunch of boxes of soy milk but it's okay if some of that goes to waste. Mind boggling, really. Jill |

If I use big boxes, then every time I open one, most of it will go to waste. What I get delivered is an unknown quantity because I don't know what the expiration date will be. |

Just another excuse. A receipt from a bin? WTF does that mean? Anytime I order *anything* online I get a shipping invoice detailing what was shipped and the amount I paid. Besides, unless you're claiming an exorbitant amount (or unless you're being audited) the IRS doesn't require receipts. Hell, they give you a charitable allowance of $250 without proof of having donated a darn thing. I thought she was all gung ho about donating to the food bank? She's claimed she doesn't just "toss things" (said phrase in my world actually means throw away) she donates them. So donate the friggin soy milk. It's in boxes, it's shelf stable. Better idea, don't order a freakin' case of the stuff if you don't know what the heck you're going to do with it. Jill |

I have since bought 24, 8 oz. boxes of plain. I have a larger box of plain. I didn't open it as I only needed 8 oz. and I knew that I wouldn't be using any more soy milk this week. I did not see the "vanilla" part on the box that I opened. Nor did I see it on the two boxes that I bought the other day. I thought it was plain. Apparently not and apparently you can not get the 8 oz. plain in any stores around here. Only the vanilla which is why I had to resort to mail order. |
