Default Vanilla cream of mushroom soup.

I do not recommend this! I screwed up. Bought an 8 oz. box of soy milk to
make cream of mushroom soup for a tuna casserole. I actually screwed up
twice as after tasting it and realizing that it was lacking something, I
realized that I hadn't put the tuna in! That was easily remedied but...
There was no way to fix the fact that I had accidentally bought vanilla
flavored soy milk. Grrr... I knew right away once it hit the pan. I could
tell by the smell. I did add extra tuna, onions and parsley trying to make
it more savory. The end result was just okay. Would have been far better
without that vanilla. Worse still, I bought two more boxes! I have a large
box of plain but I didn't want to open it because the rest would go to
waste. I just didn't notice the "vanilla" on the label because where it was
placed was not even close to the "soy milk" part. I had to resort to going
online to get the plain small boxes. So either way there is likely to be
waste. Not sure what all else can be done with soy milk. I doubt that I
can use all 24 boxes before it goes bad.

This is just too retarded, even for you.

Or the soy milk. I can't even begin to imagine how disgusting that
slop must taste like.

That's terrible Julie, what ever can be done about it?

(sorry to piggyback, JeBus)

So, you didn't want to open the box of regular soy milk because the rest
might be wasted. Instead you ordered a bunch of boxes of soy milk but
it's okay if some of that goes to waste. Mind boggling, really.

No. Not at all. If I use big boxes, then every time I open one, most of it
will go to waste. What I get delivered is an unknown quantity because I
don't know what the expiration date will be.

It is, but also amusing. I can only image how disgusting a soup would
be with soy milk, never mind vanilla soy milk.

Well, she did say the vanilla soy milk was an accident. But she also
forgot to add the tuna to the tuna casserole. D'oh!

I can't believe folks like Ophelia actually buy into this sort of thing.
It's a great source of amusement, that's for sure. Maybe they think
they're coddling a small child.

I'm also a diabetic and discovered after I had put the casseroles in the
oven that I had gone hypo. Low blood sugar. I did not think I was having
symptoms but inability to think properly is one.

Sure, but who would go on to using it in that recipe?
Vanilla and mushroom? Never mind soy and mushroom... lol.

Oh, it's only a minor ingredient, <shrug>

I can only assume it's some sort of polite compassion for what they
view as a harmless but scatter-brained individual. Whereas the rest of
us realise who and what she really is.

Julie is a repulsive piece of human waste. Canned tuna and vanilla soy
milk mushroom soup is fit only to slop her family of pigs.

And in THIS way Bryan demonstrates his caring compassionate interest
in human life, unlike the "upper class filth" capitalists he
speciously and oh so righteously decries he

"This was less than two decades after the upper class filth--who
seemed to have
zero regard for human life--committed genocide against the poor in
Ireland."

Whatta hypocrite!

Thank you for responding, and I don't advocate committing genocide against
the Bovines, though I do encourage them to voluntarily refrain from passing
on their genes. Tie the tubes of Tubby-in-a-Tutu.

Can probably make puddings; tapioca sounds good.
Can even make ice cream, and vanilla will easilly accept many other
flavors to go with; many fruits, chocolate, butterscotch, various
liquors... vanilla rum raisin ice cream sounds fine... here, lay a
quart on my ripe banana...

I could but since I don't eat any of those things, I won't.

What you really mean is that you won't, purely because it was
suggested to you.

You don't eat any of those things OR won't because of what reason?

Most people eat puddings and/or ice cream of some description.

And perhaps most people aren't diabetic. I have never liked pudding, ice
cream or even most sweets.

No way to get a receipt from a bin and I'm sure as heck not driving all the
way out there just for a receipt for a few dollar's worth of something.

You got that right, sf. Just another excuse.

A receipt from a bin? WTF does that mean? Anytime I order *anything*
online I get a shipping invoice detailing what was shipped and the
amount I paid. Besides, unless you're claiming an exorbitant amount (or
unless you're being audited) the IRS doesn't require receipts. Hell,
they give you a charitable allowance of $250 without proof of having
donated a darn thing.

I thought she was all gung ho about donating to the food bank? She's
claimed she doesn't just "toss things" (said phrase in my world actually
means throw away) she donates them. So donate the friggin soy milk.
It's in boxes, it's shelf stable. Better idea, don't order a freakin'
case of the stuff if you don't know what the heck you're going to do
with it.

Make smoothies with what you have left.

No. I bought 3, 8 oz. boxes of vanilla. I have since bought 24, 8 oz.
boxes of plain. I have a larger box of plain. I didn't open it as I only
needed 8 oz. and I knew that I wouldn't be using any more soy milk this
week. I did not see the "vanilla" part on the box that I opened. Nor did I
see it on the two boxes that I bought the other day. I thought it was
plain. Apparently not and apparently you can not get the 8 oz. plain in any
stores around here. Only the vanilla which is why I had to resort to mail
order.

Use what's left in coffee or maybe it will be good on hot cereal - you
can always bake with it.

I don't drink coffee and even when I did it was only black. Also don't eat
hot cereal or use milk on it. Nor can I think of anything I would bake that
would use it.

Well, my uncle in OK has hogs but I think the cost of shipping it to him
would be prohibitive.

You can't think of anything you'd back that would call for milk or
vanilla? Really?

Well yeah. Not anything I would eat at any rate. I did try making that

Yes they do. But only in large boxes. Or it is a brand that I can't use.

There was no drama. Having to buy extra of something is no big deal. And I
don't currently have a use for pearl onions. But they are all around me.
