My sister's friend has been diabetic for decades (no idea if it's type 1 or 2) and has diabetic sores that don't heal. Gangrene is an issue, so she's considering amputation below the knee as a prophylactic measure because she's sick and tired of dealing with the sores and pain. The thought of voluntary amputation totally grosses me out. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |
