I know of two right around the corner from here. One, I can watch from the road as I wait to turn to my house Never anyone there. I often park by the other one. Although that one does appear to be busy, and it is the one we used, I have never seen a line there. Many are visible while I stand in line at the store. Nobody is using them. |

If you are taking the time to decide in a restaurant, you are taking up time that the waiter could be spending somewhere else. Usually when I sit down, I already know what I want. I might have to ask questions though to make sure that I can eat it. If you are in the aisle of the store, you may well be in someone's way. I'm not saying that any of these things are bad. They are normal. Just like getting a Redbox at the machine is. You can say whatever you want. It isn't going to change my mind. If the owner didn't want people to do this, they would make it so they couldn't. Those people aren't doing anything wrong and in my mind it's not rude. It's no more rude that a kid at a penny candy counter would be in making up their mind as to what they want. |

I think a lot of people check menus before they go to eat, but that's not at all the same thing. You don't have people waiting behind you while you take several minutes to read the menu before you sit down, that's why they have waiters etc., to bring you a menu. Also, at Walmart you don't wait until you get to the checkout line to decide what you want to buy. Give it up Julie, I have seen you complain many times about slow people at stores etc. When you rent movies (which you don't like) at Redbox regularly, get back to me.

Those machines are put there for people to use. They are using them as intended. How in the world is that rude? It isn't. |

You never know, You might find some good > offers. I don't buy a lot of meat and it isn't something I pay much mind of the price to. I do check the ads for soda pop prices because I like to get those for cheap. I quit checking prices for everything because it's just a waste of my time. But if I am going to Target, I will check their coupons and Cartwheel. I will also check the U for Safeway if I am going in advance. Much easier to do that on my computer than on my phone. |

If the Redbox owners didn't want people to be > able to walk up and get something, they wouldn't give that option. There's a Redbox machine outside of my main grocery store. In the past 2 years, I've only seen one or two people using it. I looked at it this morning. It has 45 tiny movie posters on it (I looked at them and counted this morning). Stupid to say that by looking you would be holding up a line. Not in my area. It would be nice though if you can go online to order one and have it sent to your local box for pickup. G. |

Youtube has it all (newer movies, not so much). Full movies (older), full record albums, etc. If you can't find what you want on youtube, wait a week. ![]() nb |

Many people pass the Box and purchase. I have no problem with that at all. All my Red boxes have a panel alongside with all the popular offerings displayed. Why not stand there and decide what you want? Then move over to the machine and order your video? It's no longer a problem for me. Surely that would depend on the authors' target readership. Eighth grade is teenage level. I'm 56 years-old, I don't want books that read like they're written for teenagers.
> > > > That is what newspapers are written at. > > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Readability That's only the readability of newspapers from a study that was done in 1948. A few years later the readability level went up to 11th grade not 8th. However, reading and writing isn't just about newspapers and magazines, it's about the wonderful world of books. "In 1948, Bernard Feld did a study of every item and ad in the Birmingham News of 20 November 1947. He divided the items into those above the 8th-grade level and those at the 8th grade or below. He chose the 8th-grade breakpoint because that was the average reading level of adult readers. An 8th-grade text "will reach about 50 percent of all American grown-ups," he wrote. Among the wire-service stories, the lower group got two-thirds more readers, and among local stories, 75 percent more readers. Feld also believed in drilling writers in Flesch's clear-writing principles.[54] Both Rudolf Flesch and Robert Gunning worked extensively with newspapers and the wire services in improving readability. Mainly through their efforts in a few years, the readability of U.S. newspapers went from the 16th to the 11th-grade level, where it remains today." Cherry |

If you are taking the time to decide in a restaurant, you are taking up time
that the waiter could be spending somewhere else. Usually when I sit down, I already know what I want. I might have to ask questions though to make sure that I can eat it. > > If you are in the aisle of the store, you may well be in someone's way > > > Not the same thing at all. If someone is in my way I just say, "excuse me, may I pass" and that person moves out of the way. So you can't use that as justification. > > Cherry > > --- > Actually I can use whatever I want. Those machines are put there for people to use. They are using them as intended. How in the world is that rude? It isn't. Of course you can use whatever you want, but that doesn't make you right. Practically forever, I'd guess. IMO, it would be less frustrating to just rent the DVD. -- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them. |

Wait -- didn't you just say in another thread that the reason you keep paper towel in the bathroom is because walking back and forth from kitchen to bathroom was difficult for you because of your handicap?
