Probably because you don't use it often or at all.

Yes, especially with all the fancy cell phones that everyone seems to have
these days. But, if someone wants to go and stand in line for a movie rather
than use the ease of online reservation, so be it. They might also be in the
express line with many items, having the items bagged, and then realize at
the end that they do need to pay and start digging in their purses or
wallets while others are waiting. LOL

I didn't like "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel." I thought "Noah" was
terrible, but I did enjoy "Philomena" and I liked "Still Mine." I also got a
kick out of "Nebraska" because they reminded me of some of my relatives, but
I haven't seen a great movie in a long time, most are disappointing.

Most often the Red Box does not have a single movie that I'd want to watch
if they were free.

Right now, though, they have this one--
http://www.redbox.com/movies/the-fault-in-our-stars

I've never been in a theater where that many folks were crying.

According to a report one year ago, 2% of US citizens do not have access, but 20% prefer not to.
That is one in five who do not have access for one reason or another. That is significant.

Perhaps rude was not the best word for what you meant. If someone passing by a Redbox when
they enter or leave a store decides on the spur of the moment to rent a movie, I don't consider that rude.

I was looking for information on that, is it really an
openly pirating site?

I can't see supporting that kind of thing. I know I liked
to be paid for my work, I'm pretty sure other people do, too.

The one I know about is next to the elevator I take to the rooftop

I tell ya, Cheri and Janet, y'all must live and shop where hoards are waiting for a movie. I've never seen
such a thing here. Most of our Redboxes are outside stores or shops, with only a few located inside a supermarket.

I guess here, we have other things to do than stand in line for a movie that isn't newer than a couple weeks old,
or one that nobody wants to rent anyway. It boggles my mind (which isn't easily boggled).

I don't go to theaters, but I have heard it's a good movie. I usually get
new releases from Redbox, and am usually glad that I didn't pay movie prices
to see crap. I will probably rent that one soon.

I don't stand in line for movies. I do other things and come back later.
Where I am, we have a huge Hispanic population and they do rent a lot of
movies it seems since there are usually two to three adults and several
children at the locations. There are two places in town where the boxes are
outside, but the rest are inside. However, there's not a lot of other things
to do in our town. It's very kid unfriendly as far as amusement goes.

That's an excellent example of people who are unlikely to have a

Honestly, I don't think she has any idea they are pirated and her
family is cheating the actors and makers out of royalties.

They apparently hold quite a lot. I do know that they don't have The
Turning Pointe. Nobody seems to and when available for sale, costs hundred
of dollars. The movies that we rented had just recently become available.
I haven't checked for any others.

I've only ever seen a line at the one outside Winco.

So? When you go out to eat do you review the menu online first and decide
what to eat before you get there? I do, because of my food issues but I
would suspect that most people wouldn't. When you go to Walmart to buy
stuff do you order site to store first?

Even if I did have to wait 5-10 minutes behind someone, I do have patience.
Sheesh.

Indeed. When I pointed out that my friend has no computer but rents them, I
was bashed for it and told that they didn't want to know about my friend.

Off the top of my head, I can think of 7. There are probably more. Most of
the elderly relatives on either side of the family have none. We did have a
neighbor who didn't. They moved.

And as I said prior, many people might get one as a spur of the moment
thing. They're out. The kid sees the Redbox. What would you have them do?
Sit in their car and order it from their Smartphone so you don't have to
wait behind them?

The banks here will not take rolled coins. Heck, the bank I use doesn't
even deal with money. Everything is done via the ATM. You have cash to
deposit? Put it in the ATM. Check to deposit? You can do that at home via
the Internet. No Internet? Use the ATM.

Where did I say that I had a problem with that? You seem to have a problem
with everything I say. Why don't you go out and relax, by yourself with a
good book in some restaurant.

They only need your account number if you are depositing them. And I never
did that. I would take them and exchange them for bills. We just slapped
an address label on there and wrote our phone number.

That's just plain ridiculous! If the Redbox owners didn't want people to be
able to walk up and get something, they wouldn't give that option.

Indeed. We have Redboxes everywhere and most are not being used at all.
Winco is the only place where I have ever seen a line and that was perhaps 3
people long.

I think a lot of people check menus before they go to eat, but that's not at
all the same thing. You don't have people waiting behind you while you take
several minutes to read the menu before you sit down, that's why they have
waiters etc., to bring you a menu. Also, at Walmart you don't wait until you
get to the checkout line to decide what you want to buy. Give it up Julie, I
have seen you complain many times about slow people at stores etc. When you
rent movies (which you don't like) at Redbox regularly, get back to me.

As if that would be so awful when these kids have the smart phones glued to
them these days, adults too for that matter.
