Hi, first of all , sorry for my English, i'm writing from Italy and i need
some answer by the BBQ specialists... I bought cpl of years ago a nice bbq from Dolcevita brand http://www.dolcevitabbq.it/ita/euro3.phtml this is it. As far as u can see there is no lid and for me its difficult to cook chicken , turkey and big fishes too. And its difficult to cook in windy days too. I'm deciding to buy a new one with a solid lid to use my bbq as an oven. I'm not very up to date with all the brands in the market but i'm sure that Broil king, char broil or anything else will be great. I'll use my BBq approximately 2 times a week sometimes 3 but nothing more than this. My budget is around 800 $ maybe little more, i need something built to remain and with a great flavour cooking. Thank u very much. |

You might consider the Weber Genesis B, Silver or Gold. I would do this
but only if there is reliable product and parts support near you. However, if your primary purpose is to roast I think the 22", or 58.87cm, round Weber, which uses charcoal, is hard to beat. It is available with a gas lighter, which makes life much easier though it is fairly expensive, about $399 in the U.S. I asked Weber if their products are distributed in Italy and received the following source. Hi Kent, thanks a lot for your infos about BBq i have a vendor 10 minutes
away from home with the whole Weber collection. !!! I found the one with charcoal and the gas injector very useful, and the Genesis B . I use both 5 years ago: a regular weber charcoal and now a gas grill and i notice that maybe with charcoal the taste is better i i could remember, but the time u save with a gas grill is hard to beat. Now this new Weber product with charcoal and a lighter incorporated is very interesting. I cook 90% of T bone steak and 5% fish like calamari & swordfish; sometimes pepperoni and zucchine, but the problem is that coming home from work very late i have usually a "shower time" to set up the grill and take it at the right temperature. do u think for my use the weber genesis gas-grill will be better than weber charcoal grill with gas lighter?? I am one of the few who have a Silver Genesis B and a charcoal Weber Performer with the gas lighter side by side. I use the charcoal Performer 85% of the time, and the Gas Weber 15% of the time. I think the charcoal round Weber is the best for searing a steak. All gas grills, including the Weber aren't hot enough to sear a steak with the lid up, leaving the inside rare. The gas is the best for fish, somewhat because I am not very good at grilling fish. The grates stick to the fish a bit less on the Genesis. Most important, with any gas product, is the availability of parts when things wear out, which they will. The ignitor on my Performer has to be replaced. In the U.S. Weber has very good customer service. Make sure this is available in your area before you buy. Good Luck. We still remember that great T-bone steak in Florence. One more question....is the time to setup a performer same for the genesis gas grill because of gas lighter ?? Weber gas lighting Performer If you smother the half burned charcoal from the last time you grilled a steak, and add new charcoal to those baskets the next time you are grilling, the Performer will gas ignite very quickly. However it won't ignite as fast as the Genesis, or any other gas grill. If you use those little baskets in the grill to grill a steak so the charcoal is immediately underneath the grate, you use less charcoal, it is much hotter, and it is actually cheaper to grill with charcoal than with propane. For me, the Performer ignites fast enough that I don't ever use the Genesis because I am in a hurry. Hope this helps.
