Default TN: Whites and roses on a warm weekend

Ran into a friend Friday AM, he mentioned his family was on Long Island, so later I invited him for dinner. He had a co-worker at his house on a project, so he came as well. Lovely night on the patio. Scrounged together appetizers of lobster on quinoa/bean/corn chips and smoked mackerel on green apple with horseradish

2014 Gonnet Chignon
Nice Savoie wine- light, floral, and easy. B

2008 Trimbach Riesling
Just the base yellow label, hint of petrol, apple and white nectarine. Good acids, good finish for level, good showing. B/B+

Main course was grilled tuna (dijon vinaigrette) and squash (with za'atar) along with salad and a carrot salad Alex brought

2014 Olga Raffault Chinon rose
Fresh red fruits, citrus peel. mineral. Good acids, nice. B+

2011 Garnier "Vaudesir" Chablis Grand Cru
Big, full, dry, with pit fruits and apple, a little chalky on finish. This is quite good but a little tightly coiled at moment. B with B+/A- potential?

Saturday just me, grilled some chicken sausage which I had with salad and the 2014 Le Provencal rose. The wavy provence bottle (think Ott) , but fake cork. Thin, cluinky unripe strawberries, herbs, short. C+ (the plus was for being cold on a warm night)

A friend brought over some squid last night, I grilled that with some squash, we also had shiso/cuke/feta salad & sauteed mushrooms.

2014 Chidaine Touraine rose (Groulleau and Pinot Noir)
Bright, quite light but with a good finish, raspberry and citrus. B/B+

2012 Clos Des Lunes "Lune Blanche"
Full styled white Bordeaux for the price, seemingly Semillon driven, rich pear and nectarine fruit, modest acidity. B

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C drinkable. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice.Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
