Rec.food.cooking's resident preserves expert is temporarily missing, and
I've been referred to you people. I have 4 small apple trees (2 Stark "Colonnade" and 2 "other") that are bearing abundantly this year but I lose the battle with squirrels/birds/generic varmints every year and I can't net the trees. I've been told the greenies won't ripen indoors, so I wonder what can I do with the unripe apples in order to take advantage of them before the critters dispose of them. All suggestions welcome, thanks! Felice |
