In High School we watched a chicken develop in the egg (they peeled back a bit of shell) It made me completely ill lol....no eggs for about 5 years. Well, no eggs alone - I still ate bread etc Roberta (in VA) |

I saw some Tibetan mastiffs on APL the other night, and boy, would they be nice to curl up with. Too much hair, though. N. |

I knew I couldn't picture such a dog. Then I was wondering if it was one of those "special crosses" like a peek-a-poo. Dachshunds are so cute. Elaine, too |

A Dackerl is a small Dachshund or just a loving way to call one of any age or size. It's what we called them in Vienna and which is probably still that way. Sorry if you thought I knew of a special breed of dog. My cousin had a female Dackerl. She got loose one day when she was being walked and came back after having mated with a large dog. She died trying to give birth to a litter of puppies that were too large for such a small dog. C sections for dogs did not exist at that time and neither did abortions. I remember the dog, but I cannot recall her name. |

The longer I live the more I learn how much I DON'T know. I've never been crazy about Dachshunds but our Swedish partner has a very nice, very old long-haired Dachshund named Robin ("Rob-BEEN" in Swedish.) R. has a lot of personality and begs to come along when we are out in the forest picking lingonberries or chanterelles. > My cousin had a female Dackerl.
