Default BBQ Grill Question

While in Costco recently I spotted a propane stainless steel grill that I
like. The only thing that concerns me is that it doesn't use the ceramic
briquettes to burn off the drippings. Any liquid flows into a grease trap.
Has anyone had any experience/opinions on this type grill?

Thanks, Steve

My Weber has the flavorizer bars. I like it very much. No briquettes.

My Phoenix grill works the same way. It is great in that there are never any
flareups. It's one limitation is that you cannot get it really hot like for
searing a steak. I have a small Weber charcoal kettle for that. I do not
really know if this is the result of the grease trap design. In any case it
is great for long, unattended cooking.
