I have never bought and used store crusts but I have tried making pie dough with oil. Based on my experience I have to disagree. |

I can't quite recall when my grandfather's birthday was. He didn't like to make a big deal out of it. I know my grandmother's was on August 6, which is easy to remember. OTOH, I recall the Bach Tercentennial in 1985. Definitely a guy worth commemorating. Cindy Hamilton |

For me, it's too much bother for difference in taste because I'm childishly interested more in the filling, whatever the pie. And my kitchen drawers are already like war zones every time I need to go through them due to literally dozens of gadgets, big & small. |

I used to always use a pastry cutter or a very lark four pronged fork, though I later found I can use a hand mixer as long as I am careful not to over mix it. I used a regular old rolling pin for years, but then my wife bought me a French rolling pin, which I saw no point to at first, but then came to prefer it. I use a pastry cloth. Sprinkle some flour on it and when it's all rolled up you can use the cloth to pick it up and pull it over the pan. It takes just a couple minutes to make the dough, and about minute and a half to roll it out. As I said before, I find it to be very easy ..... easy ass pie, but I appreciate that a lot of people have a lot of trouble with it. I don't know why. They just do. |

A balance between filling and crust. If you don't care about the crust, you might be happier with some sort of compote or pudding instead. > And my kitchen drawers are already like war zones every time I need to go > through them due to literally dozens of gadgets, big & small. When I was working some of our guys had to work those days, but we didn't. I would not have minded at all. I am not religious, so those days mean nothing to me.
