In the Netherlands (where Dutch people originate from, dear Americans),
Easter Sunday and Easter Monday are public holidays, but Good Friday is
not.

There are several redheads in Diana's family, her brother is one.

LOL. Wipe the shit out of your eyes. The similarities are
overwhelming. He hasn't a trace of Charles in him.

Please, don't 'diss' Prince Philip. He filled the role he was required
to fill as the husband of the Queen. They were married for many years
before her father died. I believe they married for love. No one
expected her to become Queen at age 25.

Prince Philip did his 'royal duties'. (ahem) Charitable works. What
anyone who marries up does. I do believe he was also in charge of
maintaining the grounds of Windsor Castle (or was it Balmoral?) for
decades. The land, the horses, etc. He was very interested the farms.
He helped organize farmers markets and events. He was actually a pretty
busy guy most of his married life. Apparently a happy man.

So sad for the Queen. They married pretty young so it was I think, 72
years?

He was probably happiest when he acted as if he wasn't married. Runs in
the family, I guess.

So??

Neither of the boys looks like Charles, for that matter, they don't look like
her either. Just because a former bodyguard has red hair doesn't mean
it's his child. But you might want to check your facts just when he was her
in her employ as a guard. You're not the first one to fall for this claim and
you won't be the last.

You assume I and many others are fixated on the red hair when it's the
facial features that makes it obvious. And they both resemble Diana.
And yes, well aware of the timeline of when he was a guard. Proves
very little.

I once saw a photo of Harry with Charles taken at a particular angle and

At the right angle, Mike Tyson and Justin Bieber also look like father

Did you watch The Crown? If not, you should watch it and then see if

You do know these made-for-TV movies, docudramas, 'specials', etc. are
all supposition?? Surely you don't think what you watched is verbatim??
There's a word for such ilk, it's called sensationalism; anything to grab your
attention and ratings. Pretty sure if we saw a made-for-TV movie about your
family we'd not be so kindly to you and yours.

But you can verify things. Did you know Queen Elizabeth had two
mentally handicapped cousins, who were stored away in an asylum and
listed as dead? They never even got a birthday or Christmas card. "It
would be bad for the monarchy if people knew about them." This is
verifiable.

Where do you think J.K. Rowling got the idea to name the Ministry of Magic?
From the actual names of British government agencies, which were also adopted

There has been more than plenty of opportunity for someone in
attendance to take something and have the dna done; they would have
made a fortune with the press if they could have proved he was not his
fathers son.

Yes. Prince Edwin has a nice ring to it.

I was thinking she could marry Meghan's father and reunite the Royal family.

All jokes aside, my sympathies go out to the Queen. I'm sure it's a very
hard time for her. ;-(

Very poor taste. The man didn't do anything to earn the ire of a bunch

I merely asked who would fill the vacuum. That vacuum would be the
position, not the man. He was to the monarch. I suppose there may be
some benefit to have a figurehead head of state, but the idea that an
inbred family of aristocrats gets to set themselves above the rest of
us, and to do so in accordance with a set of rules that they set up
among themselves is way out of date.

There are a lot of people in the Commonwealth who would have no problem
with the abolition of the monarchy. I find it interesting that so many
Americans are intrigued by the monarchy.... when they are boasting about
how they disposed of it 250 years ago.

Yeah, I don't get it either.

I think it's mainly women, and it feeds into their "princess" fantasies.

Same with the Kennedy clan. A lady friend was so saddened and hanging
on every TV reporter's repetition of what little was then known about
JFK Jr.'s death, replying to my mocking "But I GREW UP with him". Uh,

Why? Is the queen reading rec.food.cooking? What difference does

We certainly saw that with the recent rift in the royal family. It
seems that Megan had some sort of fantasy about being a princess and
doing whatever the hell she wanted. She suggested racism was part of
the reason that her kids would not be granted the title of prince or
princess, and that the would not have security provided for them. The
rules of succession do not grant someone the position of prince or
princess unless they are directly in line for the throne, and when you
walk away from an active role in the royal family who don't get the
security that is provided for active members. I can tell you that most
Canadians were ****ed that we got stuck with the bill for their security
when they were staying for a while in Victoria. They are a rich family.
If they was security they can pay for it themselves.

That sort of thing happens a lot. There was a mass shooting at a
polytechincal school in Montreal decades ago and they hold memorials
for it every year. Survivors of that tragedy are coming out of the
woodwork. Last year one of the "survivors" was interviewed and was asked
where on the campus she was at the time. Calling herself a survivor
would suggest she had been in the line of fire or was at least close to
the incident. No. She was in a building on the other end of the campus.

It really doesn't make a difference. Just seems disrespectful. None of
us know the Queen nor did we know her husband. I just think it's tacky
to appear to be dancing on anyone's grave. Notice I used the word "appear".
