Be careful. If you take out too much and actually make that drawer neat
it will be a violation of the laws of nature. Every kitchen must have
"the drawer" for stuff.

For the sake of propriety she has to wait at least a week and a half.

Popeye can not wait a week and a half, He will hump that old woman

When I worked in the equipment section of the ministry we used to
organize a luncheon on Dec.24 and we were not expected to return to the
shop, so long as the weather was nice and we were expecting to have to
repair a bunch of snow plows.

"Ministry" is a funny word to me. It sounds like a metal band or something from a Harry Potter book.

The doctor master will be here soon to console her (and to sniff
those half mast knickers).

I hope she didn't fart in himself's face when she was lowering the
knickers to half mast.

Her stepmother's name was Rayne so Di called her "Acid Rayne".

Where I lived ( 80,000 pop.) all businesses closed before noon on Good
Friday. Most of the city went to church at 1 p.m.

It goes without saying though, that you're an idiot.

Well, these early days off wasn't about the religious aspect so much as
the decision makers saying hey, what a great excuse for a long weekend!

that was common many years ago, close from 12 to 3. Spend some time in
church. I do know one person that goes to church but have not seen a
business closed in decades. Religion has had a big decline in the past
20 years.

https://news.gallup.com/poll/248837/...o-decades.aspx
U.S. church membership was 70% or higher from 1937 through 1976, falling
modestly to an average of 68% in the 1970s through the 1990s. The past
20 years have seen an acceleration in the drop-off, with a
20-percentage-point decline since 1999 and more than half of that change
occurring since the start of the current decade.

We had a couple of Dutch neighbours for a while and they had a flower
shipping business. They never worked on Sundays. In fact, we rarely saw
them at all on Sundays, the the business was in full operation on Good
Fridays. I thought that was like the holiest of holy days for Christians.

I worked a compressed work week. Occasionally my schedule had me off on
the Friday of one week and Monday the next week. If that happened on
Easter weekend I would get Thursday and Tuesday off, so I had a 5 day
weekend, almost a vacation without taking vacation time.
