I had a lot of friends like that. I was there to help them but when I
needed help they were nowhere around. There was one guy I helped move
at least a half dozen times, but the time he was supposed to help us
with a move he and another sat by the front door drinking my beer.

Why did you give the damn bums your beer?

It's terrible that you have been shit on your whole life. Maybe
things will start looking up some day.

Good for you if you have a similar situation.

Our paths crossed a few times in high school but never met. One day I
took a photography course and she happened to sit across from me. We
chatted and never stopped in 45 years. We also did a lot of things
together with our spouses too. If there is a heaven, they are looking
down at us, happy we are still taking care of each other.

Our vehicle tags are cheap too . The most expensive one is the tag on
the Harley trike . It's like 9 bucks a year . Trailers get a forever tag
, my truck and the other Harley have antique tags which are also
"forever" , and the SUV wears a veterans tag . Rural Arkansas ain't
perfect , but it's a lot closer than anywhere I've lived in the past -
from my perspective , of course .

Yes, our tags are expensive. But that's the only tax on cars that we have.
I see that your $115 includes taxes on vehicles.

I'm glad you enjoy rural Arkansas. I enjoy exurban Michigan.

Ed, sounds like you've found the perfect 2nd mate if you're ever so
inclined. Sometimes just memories of a lost one is good enough though.

That's like me. I finally found true love long after my divorce but she
died way too young. I think about her every day. I can live alone with
the memories.

Never know though. Maybe someday I'll meet another. Not much chance in
these Covid isolation days.

We are perfect for each other. I visit every few months for a week or
so at a time but what works is we both have similar expectations.
Neither of us wants to date or get married, just enjoy each other. We
talk about once a week and an occasional text.

We also know she is not a replacement for my wife not am I a replacement
for her husband. We both had excellent spouses.

We're both left handed Polish Virgos but you can tell us apart because
she is prettier than me.

You would do well to find the same situation but don't let go of the
good memories you have already.
