I've never had it. I've had it oven braised in mushroom sauce. I've heard that some like to pickle it. It's also a favourite in Jewish restaurants. Anyone try it smoked? I didn't even look at the price, as I was kind of turned off. It would be good if it was nice and tender, and then had a bit of smoke put on it.

Pickled tongue on rye is probably my favorite sandwhich at a kosher deli.... the middle slices are best, not the very lean tip and not the very fatty schlong (throat). If Kootchie was serious he'd treat his new Jewish girlfriend to a hot tongue sandwich. hehheh |

I agree with you about the throat area; don't care for it much. |
