Default Smoked beef tongue

I've never had it. I've had it oven braised in mushroom sauce. I've heard that some like to pickle it. It's also a favourite in Jewish restaurants. Anyone try it smoked? I didn't even look at the price, as I was kind of turned off. It would be good if it was nice and tender, and then had a bit of smoke put on it.
