Take Afghanistan as an example. The Soviet Union stepped in to support a government that faced opposition from a number of other factions, and since they were Muslims, their fellow Muslims stepped in to try to evict the invaders. The Russians also had to deal with Muslims when they tried to stop Chechnya from breaking away. The Russians wanted the region as part of its empire while the people of Chechnya wanted to be Muslim. |

Well, not if you change your posting nym for different groups. In any case, proselytising will likely be better accepted in AA. These people are nominally into cooking & such. 'DeathToChristianity' while I am sure is intended as a call to a non-violent demise of religion might be misinterpreted by those affected as death to its members. (They are a bot 'hard-of-thinking' sometimes.) This is not a good way to start off an engagement in productive dialog. As much as I disagree with the authenticity of the origins of the Christ character in the NT stories, what he taught (sharing / caring / forgiveness / etc.) should be an inspiration for us all. What the organization named after him devolved into ( brainwashing, harassment, extortion, institutionalized pedophilia, etc. ) should not. http://mduffy.x10host.com/index.htm == Very well said, Mike! |

Was that your mayo and bread-and-butter pickle thing? No, thanks. I hate bread-and-butter pickles. They're neither one thing nor the other. I'll take a fermented dill (kosher, heh), a vinegar-based dill, or once in a great while a sweet pickle. Cindy Hamilton |

I like those too! Something in the simplicty of how they are made as a basic pickle appeals better than the 'fancy stuff'. Kroger has a store brand quite close to them. |

On the side, never fried. I must be the odd ball. I have not it lately but I used almost always slice sweet pickles and stick them in grilled cheese sandwiches. I reluctantly tried deep fried dill pickles and was surprised that they were do tasty. |
