I had to run some errands in the city today and tried to contact my son
to see if he wanted to meet for lunch. I had heard about a diner not to far from the house he just bought and moved into on the weekend. However he had worked a midnight shift and was sleeping. I went on my own to this diner that is more than a diner. I ordered their lamb kefta. I was expecting one or two kebabs on a bed of rice with a side of tomato and eggplant stew. As it turned out, the meat had been chopped up and stirred into the rice along with the stew, and there were two deep fried poached eggs on top and garnished with cilantro. Holy Cow. That was the tastiest meal I have had in a long time. My son just emailed me and mentioned that he had been stopped at a traffic light this morning and noticed the place and thought he should try it out some time. |
