The basic recipe:
http://www.recfoodcooking.com/sigs/J...d%20Bowls.html I had to hunt for the small (demi) bowls/boules of sourdough bread at the Publix bakery. Then I couldn't find leeks! The bigger "new" grocery store didn't have them. Heh. I found them at Food Lion. Also fresh parsley, because, unlike the old original recipe I did use freshly chopped curly parsley. It's delicious, very easy to make soup. It's fun in that you also eat the bread bowl. ![]() Jill |

It is a very good soup recipe, though. Even without the bread bowls it is quite tasty. ![]() Jill |

I eat it hot and I don't puree it. I like it chunky. To puree and chill it to eat? Oh man...no way that will ever happen here. ;-o |

You hollow out the center (save the innerds for making bread crumbs), brush with melted butter and garlic and toast them. You get to eat the bowl. Got a problem with that? ![]() Jill |

I remember that was trending in the 80's (oh hi there, Dsi1) but I never did try it. I'm sure it was good, especially with butter and garlic then toasted. That sounds like a bonus. |

I think a vichyssoise would have been nicer - it would have been lighter fare but it would not have fit in with the fantasy seafood sampler. I wish vichyssoise would be trending here but there's not much chance of that happening. https://www.amazon.com/photos/share/...P7PKkt45vDRaWB |
