Rick Bayless is torturing me! If you are Facebook, just take a look at what
he posted and how good it looks! https://www.facebook.com/chefrickbay...type=3&theater And this is the caption: Whoa! All it took was 1 bite of David Sterling's sweet&salty double ham & cheese flaky pastry hojaldra, Merida style, and ... pure bliss ... But no recipe, Rick. This is wrong. Maybe he will post it later. I did a search and came up empty. I see hojaldre which is a Panamanian fried dough. And I see this: http://eatyourworld.com/destinations...o_eat/hojaldra The description sounds similar to what he pictured but no recipe. Anybody got a recipe? Thanks! |

Thanks! Looks like puff pastry stuffed with ham and cheese, brushed with an egg wash, with a heavy dose of sugar(!). Looks simple enough. Looks like the pan has a layer of corn husks but I'd use parchment. |
