Default Quick and cheap kitchen redo

Spent somewhere in the vicinity of $100 but my what a difference! sw's post
about the good deal on knives at Costco got me yearning for some new knives.
But those were sold out. So I began searching around. I got this set in
red. Good reviews from Wayfair but some at Amazon did not like them at all.

But I also needed something else for my utensils. Every other place I have
lived at has had enough drawer space for them. But not here. I do have one
small drawer. It holds things like the cherry pitter, peelers, ice cream
scoop, etc. But it is too short and shallow to hold things like the potato
masher, large spoons and pancake flippers.

Not long after we moved in, I bought some insufficient, bamboo utensil
holders. They were too short and small but they were super cheap. I made
do with those until I began having the knife troubles. I hated my Wusthoff
set so much that I began buying odd knives in sheaths. Those went into a
chrome, wire caddy. It didn't work so well either and it didn't match the
others. So I got these:

Three large and two small. The large are enormous!

I wound up having to shift things around. The new knife set is too tall to
push back under the cupboard. I could not get the larger knives out when it
was back there. So... I got rid of a few things, some of which were gifts
and I never really used.

Now I have more counter space, I can get to the utensils easily and I don't
have to get ticked off because the holder fell over or other utensils flew
out. And I can fit everything in with no worries.

I did keep the odd knives with sheaths just in case these don't work out.
But they sure are purty!
