I know everyone says this all the time, but allergies. It really is
serious for my sister in law. The older one was put to sleep ironically
on the same day my sister died. When I had them boarded, he was
scheduled to get dental work done while there because his mouth was in
bad shape but when the vet did a pre-dental xray, she found a mass in
the back of his jaw. The teeth there had already fallen out. When I
asked her if in her experience it was cancer, she said yes. So rather
than go through a lot of painful surgeries on him plus the cost, he was
put to sleep.

The kids haven't seemed to miss the cats. My brother and his wife (their
new guardians) have bichons and my niece the animal lover has them to
play with. It was sad to have to give up the cats, to me anyway. I'm
making arrangements for mine, now.
