Yes I do and will continue to do so. If you really do make homemade
in your nifty crockpot, I can't believe you would still use boxed or
canned.

And unlike others, my ramen noodles have just been cooked with
homemade chicken stock, not water or your boxed dishwater.

I wonder if people read about how much fat and salt there is in packages
of flavored "instant" ramen? You can buy uncooked udon noodles which are
not precooked by frying. They only take a few minutes and you can use
dried Hon Dashi or chicken broth as a basis for your Japanese soup.

Wouldn't "ramen noodles" be a redundancy?
I don't always add that soup packet.
I like ramen, makes a good lunch doctored with veggies and left over
meat. I don't think I've ever eaten it plain as it comes from the
packet. I usually add a couple three cloves of garlic minced, a
couple three celery stalks diced, an onion rough chopped, a small can
'shrooms, and whatever else I can find in the fridge... yesterday I
found the last three slices of turkey from the deli, juliened that,
added a few drops sesame seed oil too, and some grated ginger root I
keep in the freezer. Yesterday I harvested two pretty heads of
cabbage... the whole thing began by slicing a bunch of outter cabbage
leaves like to do coleslaw, simmered long enough to tenderize some,
then began adding the rest in the order of how long each needed
cooking. Oh, added some dried parsley and dillweed too, and freshly
ground white and black peppercorns. Made about 1 1/2 qts... go know
ramen can be gourmet. Ate about half and decided to kick it up a
notch with a glug of soy sauce. I've tried all the ramen flavors over
the years but long ago I decided I only like the regular chicken
one... I buy them by the box of 12.
Harvested Swiss chard today, pretty much all that's left in the
garden, been busy weeding and covering with weed block for winter:
http://i59.tinypic.com/1zgpyya.jpg
Harvested it all, got four baskets like that, but it cooks down to
nothing... I cut out the ribs, dice and freeze, will go well with
ramen. There you can see how I buy ramen.

My girl is waiting patiently for my garden scraps, sometimes she comes
right up on the deck and looks in to remind me:

Last week I brush hogged my wildflower meadow, took a good part of the
day to do the 4 acres, when I finished it took another half hour to
wash the schmutz off the tractor, by then the shadows were long and I
was beat:

You don't need to believe anything.

As if that's going to make those crappy noodles any better.

We clean off our tractor every time we use it, so I am glad to hear that
other people do the same. It looks so bad after use, and I can not
imagine leaving it like that.

Nice photos, Sheldon.

Yea, but what a great feeling. Tired from a good day's work and you can look back and see the changes. I love fall. It is the time to reap the summers work and get things ready for the winter shut down. Guess it is just the farm boy in me, even though I live in a city high rise now.

Thats what we do here most of the time. We add miso and other things
to it for a bit of flair.

Even worse are the Yakisoba noodles. Much discussion on those a year or two
ago when they were featured on that Extreme Couponing show. At that point
in time they could be had for free. And people were buying them, hundreds
of packages at a time. A few people on the couponing forum I frequent did
say that they got a free package and split it between the family as a side
dish but that nobody liked the stuff. Too fatty and salty.
