It was yesterday for me. I had to pick up my wife's car and she wanted
to go for a coffee at my local bakery coffee shop, the one I go to in
order to get away for a while and do my crossword. I needed some lunch
and thought I would get a bowl of soup there. The soup of the day was
Tomato Bisque. Tomatoes are hard on my system so we decided to go with
the sandwich and soup (only $2 extra). I would have the sandwich and
she was going to have the soup. They were out of soup, so we ordered a
sandwich and shared it.

Grown up Grilled Cheese...... aged cheddar and feta with black olives
and sun dried tomato, made with their own multi grain bread and grilled
on a pannini press. Delicious.

I love grilled cheese of all kinds. TJ's sells a loaf of chewy white bread
makes great GC and panini. It's called Italian or Tuscan. Only the tiniest bit
sour in flavor, and it's a great value -- 2 lbs for < $3.

Well, dang! This would be the week when I decide not to buy bread. I do
have buns but those wouldn't make a good grilled cheese. And I do have two
kinds of nut cheese. One is more of a sauce though. And the other is
pepper jack. Not sure what to do with them yet.

But you said that tomatoes were hard on your system?

Did you post a recipe for this? If I missed it I'd love to try it.

Oh man, that looks so darn good! I saved that page and will definitely make
this soon.

I'm almost tempted to run to the store right now and buy what's necessary.
They don't mention what kind of bread to use but I'm guessing a multi-grain
bread of choice.

That takes grilled cheese way over the top, imo.

I think I'd go with whole grain on that one-- wish I'd looked at it
before I made my simple muenster slab & fresh made white bread last
night.

I made onion strings to go with-- shoulda laid them on right inside. .
I still have some muenster left-- maybe I'll do another next week.
That should be enough cheese for me this quarter.

I like the 'sloppiness' of that one. I think they should have
enough cheese that the first couple bites are with a fork.

Thanks for the recipe. I'll give it a try.

I was thinking the same thing after I read your first message. Here in
Virginia tomato season is late June - early July. Why not wait until then
when you get the tasty homegrown tomatoes?

I only buy bacon about twice a year. Once during the winter to have a few
"breakfast for dinner" meals. Then I always buy some for BLT's during tomato
season. Occasionally, another package for some use.
