Default Gad zukes - the aftermath

So I cooked this sucker tonight. Spit it lengthwise and trimmed to fit in
my baking dish. Salted the halves and after 1 hour poured off a lot of
water. So I scooped out the meat, sautéed some garlic, onions then added
hot Italian sausage, beef and the zuke meat. Added basil, oregano and
parsley plus parmesan and salted to taste, cooled, added to eggs and some
bread crumbs and parmesan. Stuffed the zukes, set in baking dish with tomato
sauce and cooked 30 minutes., Added mozzarella cheese on top and baked 15
more minutes

For such a tough and fibrous zuke it was sweet and tender and delicious.
Awesome dinner! And I am not at all a squash fan.

Paul

We had a much smaller one, but still a little big. My wife grated it up
and then sauteed it in butter. It was tender and delicious.

I think the Brits call that a "vegetable marrow." I rather like them
that way myself.

I doubt one would have to look very hard to find someone here who would.

My thought exactly. I think I'll grow another one that size and make some
kick ass zuke fries. I will need a much bigger pot and a few gallons of oil
first.
