I'm cooking a full Thanksgiving dinner with my friend Bev. I'm just
so happy that she asked me if we could do it together. Last year she was in the middle of a messy and sad divorce. For many years before that, we had shared Thanksgiving with our immediate families at Bev's home. Last year she just wasn't up to it , but this year she has a new (much smaller) home. We will try to pull off the whole thing with her kitchen and my kitchen. My kitchen is the size of a postage stamp and hers is as big as the envelope! She's in charge of the turkey and I'm doing the sides and folks are bringing stuff too. It will be small - not more than eight, I'm sure. I start cooking Monday! Menu Turkey with stuffing in the bird Another kind of Stuffing in a crockpot Mashed Yukon Gold potatoes Gravy Sweet Potatoes OR Glazed Carrots & Parsnips Scalloped Corn Sauteed Fresh Green Beans with Mushrooms Coleslaw OR Asian type salad Whole berry cranberry sauce -scratch Jellied Cranberry Sauce (Ocean Spray ;-) Fresh Cranberry relish Relish Tray with deviled eggs, beet pickles, olives, homemade corn relish Pineapple Upside Down Cake Pumpkin Pie plus anything that shows up with folks who are invited There's always room for one more Lynn in Fargo Wishing you all good food, healthy families and lots to be thankful for! |
