Default Kale Chips

I first read about these on a raw food forum. The kale is cut in bite sized
pieces, drizzled with or coated with olive oil, sometimes some apple cider
vinegar and whatever seasonings you want. Could be plain salt. Dehydrated
at a low temp. until crispy so they are still considered raw. They are a
substitute for potato chips.

Now I never tried this recipe because I wasn't really sure I liked kale and
many of the other raw recipes I tried were pretty yucky. Bore no
resemblance to the cooked counterparts. Like potato chips.

But today I saw Jacques Pepin make some for a snack. Now granted, he and I
don't always have the same tastes in food, but the chili he made today was
pretty much verbatim how I do mine, except he used a pressure cooker and I
don't. And I trust his tastes in food. He said the kale chips made an
excellent snack.

I have since looked up recipes. Pretty much the same as the raw ones but
baked. Have seen to do at 350 for 10 minutes or until crisp, but Jacques
said this temp. was too high. Said they would turn black. He did his at
250 and I believe he also put them on a cake rack on a baking dish, or I
might be getting this confused with something else. I watched a bunch of
cooking shows.

Anyway... Has anyone ever had these? Are they really good?

Certainly sound interesting - I might throw some in the oven after
I've cooked supper tonight, see what happens.
