New Weber Genesis owner. Bought a smoker box yesterday. Soaked some
mesquite chips and placed the box along the back edge of the grill on the grate. The back and front burner were on, middle off. We did a beer can chicken at 400 degrees, took 90 minutes. The chicken was good, we were happy with that. Two questions...anything we should of done differently? And we got almost no smoke at all. Should I have place the smoker box under the grates on the flavorizer bars? Thanks, in advance! |

When I first used the box I just sat it on the bars, but I've since stopped using a smoke box altogether. Now I just wrap chunks tightly in foil and sit them on the bars. It's much more convenient, the smoke amount is adjustable by varying of the number of chunks, plus chunks give a longer smoke time than chips. -- Reg email: RegForte (at) (that free MS email service) (dot) com |
