Default i need ideas!

Someone may have read messages that i posted before and i thank you for the
responses. Now, i have yet another question. I live in pennsylvania and
well its pretty damn cold around here this time of the year, so good fresh
fruit isnt readily available. I was wondering if someone could tell me of
any good wines to make with fruit that might be available this time of the
year.

I Just started a batch with Welches Concord Grape Juice Frozen. So
far everything looks good. As far as fresh fruit(being a GreenGrocer
I would know ) Strawberries are stil a bit high out of Fl and Cali.
But I do have a gallon going. Also might try peaches from chile
They are good but you need to make sure they are ripe Not always easy
with imports . You might try canned fruit. I havent tried it yet. I
think you would need Fruit with natural juicenot syrup. Oh and Bananas
are alway plentiful. Hope this helps.

Oh also plentiful are Apples pears , And also a difficult one from
what I hear (but am trying it anyway ) Juice Oranges or tangerine.

Last winter I was in the same situation - no fresh fruit,
all my equipment sitting around idle. So I made a tea
wine. Sounds strange but it's incredibly easy to make.
Mine is still a bit too young to drink, but the samples
that I did taste were pretty interesting.

Apples are available year-round these days, you could try making some
cider.

You can make wine out of Welch's 100% frozen juice - there's grape juice,
white grape juice, and white grape peach. You can also buy frozen fruit
during the sales at the local grocery store - there was a sale at my grocery
store last week, but I have enough. Apples seem to be on sale a fair
amount, as well as bananas.

Try making some Banana wine. Bottle it dry and it will be perfect for
topping off your future batches if you can save any

No worries, there is a lot of debate on what makes cider and what makes
apple wine. In my opinion, cider is only fermented apple juice. Apple
wine is made with added sugar and/or water. I perfer cider myself, it's
a great alternative to beer. Apple wines are nice as well though.

You are not stupid. The definition of "cider" is mote. In the US, cider is
generally defined as simple apple juice. Hard cider is fermented apple
juice, usually 5-7%. Then you can make a true wine with apples. In much of
the rest of the world, apple juice is apple juice and cider is the fermented
version that the US calls hard cider.

I hope that is all clear now. ;o\

That said Hard cider is a delightful drink on hot days in the summer. Dry
apple wine make a nice, non-descript, white table wine. Sweeten it a bit
and it is distinctly apple flavored wine.
