Default TN: $5 Chianti

Leftovers (chicken, salads) and Chianti last night. My previous bottle
of the 2005 Viticcio Chianti Classico was a bit corky, this one showed
clean. There's nothing complicated here- straightforward black
cherries and plums, maybe just a hint of vanilla-y oak. In time maybe
a hint of tobacco, but this is a fruit driven wine, with enough
acidity to keep lively. Simple mid-modern Chianti, but at the whopping
price of $5 (Zachys case sale) I'm not complaining! B/B-

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent
wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't
drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no
promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.
