Default How I lost 30 pounds

Hi Gang!

I'm a new member so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Darren from
Scottsdale, AZ and am a passionate follower of holistic nutrition.
When I turned 30 I felt like my body was falling apart, had an
enlarged prostate and was considerably overweight. I thought I had
nothing to look forward to but pain, surgery and prescription
medication like most Americans.

My career path took me away from sales and I ended up in massage
school. In school, part of our curriculum was holistic nutrition and
boy did that open my eyes. I could not believe that by switching to a
vegetarian diet consisting of only natural foods such as fruits,
veggies, lots of salads and some whole grains could impact my health
dramatically. To make a long story short, within 6 months of switching
to a whole foods diet, I lost 30 pounds, gained tremendous energy and
my prostate problems disappeared.

That was several years ago and I'm still going strong. My diet
philosophy is to, as much as possible, only eat foods that "serve" me
or impact my body in a positive way. As my diet has evolved to a
mostly "beans and greens" diet, my results keep getting better. I
truly believe that there is nothing the body can do when we give it
whole foods with plenty or raw salads and fruits.

The books that have impacted me the most a

again, this is spelling out nothing.

interesting how the whole world is fat.. but folks i work with aren't...
folks i live with aren't... folks in my hood aren't....

neighbors further out.. aren't.. hell even the lazy walmart greeter in town
isn't fat....

i see joggers all the time.. cyclists... folks on roller blades... walking
folks.. none of them are fat.. not even close....

even those who are with jobs that require you to sit all of the time... i
don't see them piling on food NOR are they large. (some are semi close to
flabby... not chunky) i don't get it?

where's the fat folks?

hell even the cabbies in town none of them are fat.... one has a big
ass.... he coughs alot.. but he's not fat...

let alone obese.

"U.S. Obesity Trends 1985–2006
During the past 20 years there has been a dramatic increase
in obesity in the United States. This slide set illustrates
this trend by mapping the increased prevalence of obesity
across each of the states.

In 2006, only four states had a prevalence of obesity less
than 20%. Twenty-two states had a prevalence equal or
greater than 25%; two of these states (Mississippi and West
Virginia) had a prevalence of obesity equal to or greater
than 30%."

It is amazing how you can willfully ignore extant reality.
Or, do you not know how to type "obesity" into Google?

You have an amazingly-developed ability to simply ignore
reality and make believe that it goes away. Self-delusion
is the sincerest kind of delusion.
De Nile is more than just a river in Egypt!
Do you maintain that the current obesity epidemic is an
illusion?
