Vegan (alt.food.vegan) This newsgroup exists to share ideas and issues of concern among vegans. We are always happy to share our recipes- perhaps especially with omnivores who are simply curious- or even better, accomodating a vegan guest for a meal! |

Faux Suede
I have a pair of vegan athletic shoes I would like to convert into
dance shoes. Dance shoes have suede'd soles to allow easier turns and less stress on the knee. Does anyone know a good source for strong vegan suede that I could glue to the bottom of my sneakers? |

Does anyone know a good source for strong > vegan suede that I could glue to the bottom of my sneakers? > Sounds as if there is a fairly specific requirement for grip and slip.. My experience of dancing is of drunken lurching to stuff like "Smoke on the Water" in the 70's so YMMV. You could experiment with the synthetic "chamois leathers" for window and auto cleaning, available from supermarkets or motoring accessories shops (eg Halfords in the UK). Otherwise you could try DIY newsgroups ( like uk.d-i-y) - you may have to put up with some banter though, but it's usually harmless :-) Bramble-stick |
