Default Chocolate Malt Cookies

Chocolate Malt Cookies

8 semisweet chocolate baking squares, chopped
1/2 cup hard margarine (or butter), cut up
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup cocoa, sifted if lumpy
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 cups malted milk balls, coarsely chopped
2 large eggs, fork beaten

Melt chocolate and margarine in medium saucepan over lowest heat,
stirring often, until almost melted. Do not overheat. Remove from
heat. Stir until smooth. Cool slightly.
Stir flour, baking powder and cocoa in large bowl.
Add brown sugar and milk balls. Mix well.
Add eggs and chocolate mixture. Stir. Shape int 1-1/4" balls. Arrange
about 2" apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake in 350 oven for about
15 min until cooked. Rearrange tryas at halftime. Let stand on cookie
sheets for 5 min before removing to wire racks to cool. Makes about
3-1/2 dozen cookies.
