Default salt fish

One of my neighbors caught lots of golden trout and froze them. He
called me to ask if salting these fish was something he could do at
home. I looked around a bit and found lots of very general material,
but nothing definitive.

Anybody got a good source about salting fish to preserve them? And do
you know if these fish work well salted?

Pastorio
